Castien Aratris

Castien comes from a long and crumbing bloodline of witches. Once upon a time a few hundred or more years ago they were legendary among withes, with their powers and feats of magic whispered of in awe. Now, through years of "keeping it in the family" most of them were too crazy to understand they weren't preforming magic, and the ones that weren't crazy were obsessed with gaining their power and status back.

Through the generations his family had contact the Fae courts, and his mother and grandmother were capable of brokering a deal with one of the Sidhe, hoping the mingling of their bloodline and that of a powerful supernatural creature would jump start their magic. Nine months later Castien Aratris was born, and to everyone's great surprise he turned out to be just another failed experiment and taint to the family.

Castien could, with great concentration cast some basic illusions, but nothing for the witches to be proud of or write about in their supernatural newsletter to other witches about how they were back, assuming they had a newsletter. As for his father, offspring of a Fae who could barely cast illusions much less anything else, was a big disappointment as well as a hit to his pride. So, he popped back off into the world of the Fae, cutting all ties to the Aratris witches.

Castien then got to live the normal life of a son who dashed all hopes and dreams of an insane family. And his family never passed up the opportunity to let him know how much of a disappointment or how unwanted he was.

-His ears are pointed, nowhere near as pointed as a full Faerie, but more pointed then the average humans.
-Because his father was of the Winter Court, he never feels the cold, and is always warm. His favorite thing is to stand outside in the snow with no shirt on to let the cool air hit his bare skin.
-His eyes will shift from blue to bright purple without his control. Blinking, coughing, lying, sneezing or any number of factors can cause it to happen.
-He weighs much less than his height and build would suggest. As such, things like alcohol hit him harder than most people would think.
-Iron will leave horrible rashes on his skin with direct contact.
-He can lie. He is not good at it. He gets nervous and fidgety. He also has a habit of getting sick after a lie.
-He has an inferiority complex due to family past and does not know how to handle compliments. He grew up being told he just was not good enough and that's what he believes. He rarely tries at most things anymore.
